“Supporting Traditional Livelihood Systems in Tusheti” project summarizing meeting

On the 30th of October, 2018, Caritas of Czech Republic conducted a summarizing meeting of the project “Supporting Traditional Livelihood Systems in Tusheti” financed by the Czech Development Agency.
The Meeting was officially opened by Ekaterine Meskhrikadze, Head of Mission, Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia and Jiri Preclik, Chargé d'affaires a.i., Embassy of Czech Republic in Georgia.
The project – “Supporting Traditional Livelihood Systems in Tusheti” was launched in 2015 and it was developed in three main dimensions:
- Development of Tushi wool production: trimming/processing of wool using modern technologies;
- Improved production of potatoes and vegetables through efficient land use;
- Development of additional economic activities through small grants and educational interventions.
The First Deputy Governor of the Kakheti Region – Irakli Shioshvili, the representatives of local self-government and the beneficiaries of the project have attended the meeting.
